Official Seahawks vs Carolina Panthers Game Thread

Postby savvyman » Sun Oct 26, 2014 7:24 am

Let's get this started a little early today.

My feelings on the offense are not as positive as many people. Last week everyone was so pleased with the Seahawks second half performance. But that performance came mostly from the "Nuclear Option" section of the playbook which is putting the offense on Russell Wilson's shoulders and legs and ask him to improvise production. One day Russell will get killed doing this and this is why we only want to go Nuclear when there is no other option.

While if the Hawks were to lose today it would not mean the season is toast.....However if they do lose you can view it as the bread has definitely been loaded into the slots of the old toaster.

I remain optimistic about the teams talent and am forecasting a gut checking 27-24 victory.

Live Football at 7:30 PST?

I like this - Football and a cup of coffee to kick off the Sunday morning. Maybe having a team in London will not be so bad?

Off to a shitty start:

Offense - 3 and out
Special Teams - missed a recovery on a muffed punt
Defense - being marched on.

Ugh

Kam Chancellor may be playing the last three weeks but he is certainly not healthy.

His name is rarely called at the end of a defensive play.

Is this the whole scripted offense we're watching? I hope the script is 8 plays, because it could be 17-0 if we're going with 20 or so.

What a difference a year makes - no way do we miss on both of the turnover opportunities last season.

I think Irvin leads the Seahawk's defense in the knucklehead play category.....

2 Stupid Penalties inside the 10 - this never happened last year.

Fortunately...... The Carolina OC called a stupid play on 3rd and short.

Offense is inept - - Kicker bails us out with a monster Kick - -- Defense is getting gashed - - - - Only 6 - 3. For the 4th week in a row we have been outplayed yet remain in a position to win.

However - Do we look like a Superbowl Caliber team? Hell No.

Schofield is moving up quick on the Knucklehead plays.... This is the 3rd time he has abandoned the contain position and Kam has made us pay.

Whoops - Irvin decided to one up schofield by getting his second knucklehead penalty of the game.

I know some people like Irvin but his results are poor.

Last week he had significant minutes.

KJ Wright 10 Tackles and assists.

Malcome SMith 7 Tackles and assists

Bruce Irvin - -0 Tackles 1 assist.

Wow. Turbo was rocked!

Think we would have been flagged if we shoved a player down like Lynch was? I do...

Look I love Russ but he has been hot and high all game. Baldwin made incredible catches on a couple of those. The ball to Lynch was hot and high. Its at least 50%on Russ probably more..........Horrible momentum changing F up.IMO Hawks goals this year come down in large part to 30 minutes right now...

I agree that was more on Wilson - there was a lot of heat on that throw and Lynch tried to extend and grab the missle with his two hands best he could.

If the pass had hit Lynch in the body that's one thing.... it did not - - He did his best to field that hot throw by Wilson.

Hate to say this folkes - But looking at the Defense over the pasy 4 games they are no longer 'Elite"

Rather as a group they are average.

I do think that Bennett, Sherman and Thomas are as good as ever.

Wilson would admit it was high and away. Lynch would admit he wishes he had caught it. Whatever GO HAWKS!!!!!!

It wasn't high and away, watch it again, that was 100% on Lynch. If Wilson "admit's" otherwise, and I don't doubt he would, he's just taking the blame to keep things under control.

See what Happens when you send some heat?

Only took Quinn 4 games to realize that this is not last year.

I'll take the auto-first, but hated the pass. We've thrown way to many short balls on 3rd down today. I get rac, but it's not there in this game.

Luke Keuchley

A Little history lesson - Luke was the player the Seahawks had targeted for their first pick at #12 in the draft -- - However Carolina unexpectedly took him with the 9th pick - - - So the Hawks traded down 3 picks and drafted........ Bruce Irvin

Yeah. Clearly Keuchley is a stud, but I like Wagner.

This team can't get out of it's own way. Willson hold, Willson drop. He was jacked, but he should have held on to that ball.
