Does Walter Jones really deserve the ROH??

Postby obiken » Sat Nov 01, 2014 9:46 pm

NO DOESNT
HE EARNED IT!
All he did was block, BETTER THAN EVERONE ELSE AT THE LEFT TACKLE POSITION!!

Only player I don't think should be in the ROH that's there, is Karl Mecklenburg's Santa Claus. AKA Dave Krieg, but that's just me, and I could be wrong!!

I just don't see with Largent, Warner, and Ken Easley, how you can say that IF Big hands Johnston hadn't ended JZ's career, that Krieg was a great QB. Way too many turnovers and way too inconsistent.

Go Back to playing with your Star Wars toys 'cause you are WRONG. Mudbone deserves the ROH because he EARNED it. He has more yards than many QB's who are in the HOF. One SB win and/or a few more play off appearances and he would be in the HOF. Yeah, he fumbled a lot but so did Moon. Elway had his share of fumbles as did Joe Willy Namath. Oh, and that game against KC wear that sack record was set was an anomaly because most of the sacks were of the "in the grasp" variety a rule that was only around for a few seasons. Many of the great pass rushers of the era really padded their stats for those few seasons that egregious "in the grasp" rule was in effect. I remember Jack Lambert saying at the time "what's next? having QB's wearing dresses???

Oh, and we won that game in KC when Mudbone hit Paul Skansi in the back of the end zone with the winning TD. Oh, and Largent caught more of his passes, yards, and TD's from DK than he ever did from Jim Zorn. Zorn was a great QB for a young expansion team but he would have lost his job to Steve Meyer if Meyer had not got hurt in the preseason a few years before Zorn did lose his job to DK. After he broke his ankle JZ was never the same so yeah Big Hands Johnson did end his career.

You must be bored and are swaddling your swizzle stick, or are just feeling absurd, Obi.

We might never see a LT as dominant as Jones ever again. His offseason workouts and overall ability to stay healthy while CONSISTENTLY being absolutely dominant is something that comes along once or twice in a lifetime.

Walter Jones is without a doubt the greatest seahawk. No player has dominated their position like he did, and his position is one of the most important.

It would come down to him and Largent, and a microscope to tell the difference. Can you imagine how our current Offense would function with either in their prime!! Can you imagine having Hutch, Toby, and Walt for a line? Wow Lynch would kill and so would RW!

I know there are some who wonder (privately) if Steve Largent would have had as great a career in this era than he had in his own. I say without a doubt YES! He might have even been better, I mean, look at Wes Welker and Largent was way better than Welker is. There, I said it. Largent would excel in any era!
