The Train is Coming

This is the attitude I want these guys having. Everywhere I go ( including here) there is an insane amount of doubt, moaning, whining, and silliness. I'm glad that the team isn't buying into the needless, pointless fretting, worry, nailbiting or eulogies being delivered.

I've mentioned before that last season wasn't some season long coronation, nor some cake walk to the SB that seems EVERYONE seems to believe it was, there was indeed MORE games similar to the Oakland or NYG games, than the dismantling in February, and yet it seems that even some of the most ardent fans have COMPLETELY forgotten that, and somehow expected a season long 55-3 blowout.

There are numerous games that played out identically ( inferior team playing with or better than Seattle) and yet somehow that is lost in translation from one season until the next ( especially amongst the "haters" but even amongst the "12's") this team IS NOT going meekly into the offseason fella's, get used to it, embrace it, and enjoy the damn ride.

You are absolutely right about some of the games last year. Almost every team that goes all the way wins a few of those. And the Hawks have a way of winning more than their share of them. I feel pretty good about this Sunday which is unusual for me. I dont know how I will feel next week. We will learn a lot tomorrow, one game at a time....

It's also no coincidence that our troubles this season tie in directly with our team's overall health.
We all hate the injury argument, but it's also something that can't be ignored.

You can also say more or less the same thing when it comes to SF.
A great deal of those 2 teams squaring off in the CCG was because each went through the season with far fewer injuries than they have now.

We've gotten a few guys back that we didn't have for a couple of games, while still others are new to the (injured) list.

Regardless, the Seahawks have the wherewithal to make this a great season.

We'll see how it turns out, but I like our chances.

I actually like where the Hawks sit right now, a SB champion being doubted, and 'flying under the radar' sounds like a good spot to me. the injuries are concerning ( and they were last season as well) but IMHO this team feeds on thag negative press, opinion and stupidity, and playing angry right now could be the best thing possible for them.

I think injuries have something to do with it. But so does talent. Hawks lost some guys I thought were really key (Bryant, Thurmond and Clemons for example) which really effected the chemistry of the team. You can never predict how backup players who are great in limited action will play when pressed into fulltime duty. Remember my.lofty expectations for Kyle Williams? Lol didn't quite work out how I expected.

Likewise, the 49er talent base had been depleted the last couple yrs with losses of role players like Delaney Walker, Blake Costanzo and others. Injuries aside, I don't believe either of these teams are top of the heap sny longrr (well, 49ers never reached the top. But you get my point).

But as to injuries....wow. It is bad. I was in Seattle just days ago and your radio guys were really fretting the loss of Mebane. Saud he is irreplaceable and the work will be done by committee. We just lost Ward for the yr. In 35 yrs of watching the 49ers I have never seen anything like this. Literally half of our starting D sitting at the same time, Olinemen breaking legs, etc.

I just do not think it's either team's yr. But I am a major homer, so I've still convinced myself it could happen. "It" being making the SB to get blown out by the Broncos or Pats lol.

This is what makes the NFL fun though. Each week is like a new season in today's NFL.
