I have mixed feelings. On the one hand, it's a stupid rule. Of all the issues the league has to worry about, including concussions, domestic violence, racist nicknames, PED's, and so on and so forth, they're fining Beast $50K X2 for not talking to the media? It's absolutely insane IMO.
But on the other hand, it is a rule that was established by his employer for reasons they deemed important to their goals that is neither unsafe, immoral, or illegal, and as an employee, Beast has an obligation to follow it. There are a lot of stupid rules that all of us have to follow, and simply not liking them is not a good reason for flaunting them.
Ironically and quite recently, there was a stupid rule that my employer insisted that comply with that was very similar to the one Beast is being disciplined for violating. My employer insisted that I post a photograph of myself in my personal profile page on the company website. I am two years from retirement and not actively seeking promotion, so I saw no benefit to me whatsoever in publishing a personal resume on the company website, so I refused....until I was told to do it or else. Stupid rules.
