Great News! This FO just knows what its doing (most of the time so long as its not trading for a WR).

Great news! I really like the way he plays.
KJ is one of the underrated LBs who can do it all.
Wasn't he the guy who made Jimmy Graham irrelevant when we played them?
KJ can cover, is a sure tackler, can play the middle if required, and although not asked much has shown he can rush the passer.

HUGE NEWS!

I can't wait to see what kind of numbers they came up with. I have been really wondering if they were going to keep both KJ and Wagner and now we're half way there. Awesome.

Gotta love it. Yet another reasonable and cap friendly, but still equitable deal that everyone can be happy with, which sets up well for next years batch of needed signings.
The Seahawks are already going to be well under the cap, and this only helps them next year when it comes to signing Wilson, Wagner etc...
Solid A signing. This team really is a dynasty in the making.

TNT has it as 4 years x 27 million... sounds good for KJ and the team. Bobby W is next, although he has one more year on his rookie deal, he's up with RW this year.

This could be a milestone off-season if we can get the rest of the best of the class of 11 and start working on 12 under contract.

So does this make it 6.75 million per year? Is my math right or does that include all possible incentives?
Pretty good for KJ. I hope it ends up to be a bargain for us.

It's Percy Harvin's pocket change money.... haven't seen a breakdown, but it looks like they are going ahead to sign the core players sooner rather then later.

We also should see another 14-18m increase in the salary cap... Mr Wilson, Mr. Wilson, your new contract is awaiting you.

Wow, I had no idea the cap would jump that much. That would certainly be the majority of his contract if so.

Last year the Cap jumped more than anticipated and some of the writers think it will be the same situation again this year.
I think it will be a good time to sign a Franchise QB to a good contract as well as the remaining core players.

Good News ... and a good contract and he sounded ebullient about it. They've been working on it since last spring.

He thought he would be going F/A but his agents and Hawks got it done.

Yeah, he probably could have gotten more, but he said he wanted to stay and talked about the D as a unit.

He said he will not be takng The Sherman Corportation of the Earl of Thomas out to dinner as they can afford to pay for their own dinner, but, he'll cover some of the other guys.

But ... I totally disagrtee with Nanook.

KJ Wright cannot play middle linebacker.

No.

He cannot.

Not even barely.

However ... he is one of the best WIL's in the League.

I'm glad the Hawks got him re-signed.

Money being money, I'm beginning to think they will pass of Averill.

Yeah, they are going to have to make some tough decisions soon and Averil might be the odd man out, although if he isn't going to get a 'break the bank' offer they can still keep him. We signed him to a 2 yr/13 mil contract last time and we could probably give him 9 mil/year still if he's willing to play for that, so I think there is still a chance we can keep him. If the cap jumps up 10 mil we should still have about 40 mil in salary cap room next offseason (that includes about 6 mil for KJ). Even with RW taking up 20 mil (which he probably won't get in his first year, his cap hit probably will be closer to 15 that first year) that leaves at least 20 mil to give to Wags (probably around 6-8 mil more next year) and still gives them at least 12-18 mil to sign either Avril and Carp or a big name free agent (Dez, anybody?). Anyway, the point is the Hawks are in a perfect position cap wise and this really is the perfect time to sign your franchis QB (and that is why they need to extend these guys as soon as possible because the cap could go up 25 to 30 mil in the next 3 offseasons.
