Mr Chip? Meet Mr. Shoulder

Postby savvyman » Tue Dec 23, 2014 9:44 pm

Apparently the team is a little pissed about only five players being named to the Pro Bowl

Six QB's in total were named to the Pro Bowl and Russell was not one of them (though he is an alternate...)

I like it - The chips has just been implanted firmly into each of the players shoulders right before the playoff run - and we know how this team plays when they feel disrespected....... Just ask Denver.......

I don't really give a crap about the Pro-Bowl except to the extent it may make my team's players happy or whatever, and I can honestly say I'd rather none of my team's players ever actually play in it, but I have to say:

I know all of the PB QBs are deserving AFAICT, but would you for sure and without question trade RW for any one of them right now?

Luck? No way in hell.
Manning? No way in hell.
Roethlisberger? No way in hell.
Romo? No way in hell.
Brady? Eh, maybe, but he depends on a clean pocket (or at least I can't recall him ever throwing a pass without one).
Rodgers? Eh, maybe.

every one of them has more talent around them and face way easier defenses than Wilson. Goo part is unless we go to the SB, which we will, he will probably get in anyway as one of them is sure to not go.

After his toy TY Hilton broke Luck Shart himself all over Texas.14-22 109 yards with no TDs and 2 more picks for a total of 16.QBR in the low 40s. Also he has been a fumbling machine. Trade him for Wilson?Hell no
Manning, what can you say. An impressive career is starting to wind down. His arm is in rapid decline. And never a fan of pressure hes got a shabby line and is getting hit as lot. Over his last 5 games he hasn't cracked 300 yds and the team is running much more to hide Peyton's deficiencies. Anyone who thinks Peyton's better right now need to look at some game film. Check out SB48 while your at it. No, hell no.
Rapistburgher is sort of like a big fat white Russell Wilson. He runs around if the play breaks down and slings the ball to an open reciever. But Ben has been streaky and has a rap of not working very hard. NO
Romo? Win some playoff games before you get in this elevated conversation. NO.
Brady hasn't cashed the check since Billacheats surreptitious filming of defensive signals was discovered. No Super bowl wins even again vs the same inferior opponent both times. Brady does very poorly with pressure up the middle. Hes got Gronk goingk so we will see if this years version is any better. I suspect we may find out personally where they are this season. But NO I dont want that classless brat dropping F bombs on live TV.
Rodgers is a puss. Hes great when the ball is slinging around the field but knock him around hes way different as Buffalo showed a week ago. His smugness rubs me the wrong way too. Not a chance Im giving up RW for him

So its Luck, lost without a security blanket that can catch his often errant throws.
Manning running out of juice
Big Ben being Jekyll and Hyde
Romo losing to Sanchez on Thanksgiving, actually gotta give him his due, he hung up a 3rd and 20 prayer that kept the Hawks from being the #1 right now. But, big game choker so far.
Brady, one trick pony, absolutely needs a clean pocket to be his best. Has struggled in the biggest games lately
And Rodgers, trending way down the last few weeks
Russell plays a game none of them have the ability to play and hes on his game like no other right now.Never mind the clueless voters.

Personally I could care less how many Hawks make the Pro Bowl. The only award or honor I care about is the Lombardi. They could load the Pro Bowl up with Raiders, Titans, and Jaguars and it wouldn't bother me any. And I really don't think it's going to make a significant difference in how our guys play or prepare to play. Like Russell says, you have to screen out the noise, and the Pro Bowl is nothing but noise.

IMO they ought to abolish the Pro Bowl, vote after the Super Bowl on the best players at each position including the MVP, ROY, DPOTY, et al, and find some other way to honor them instead of another live, full contact football game. The whole process is a farce, especially now that they are playing it before the SB. Hell, half the players fake injuries in order to get out of the game.

We clearly are peaking at the right time.
Run the ball.
Stop the run.
Burn the clock.
Move the chains.
The Seahawks are ready.

I'm just such a football junkie that I used to watch the entire pro bowl. It was the last live NFL ball of the year.It was some salve after XL to see SA, Hass, Hutch and WJ in Hawaii after that loss. Little did I know it would be the last time we would see WJ and Hutch forming that wall on the left side.

Now the pro bowl is just stupid for 2 reasons. 1 is playing it before the SB. So that means lots of the guys who got voted in wont be playing. Also I dont like the non conference drafting with washed up superstars hamming it up. Reason 2 its stupid is the players no longer respect the game, the honor, or the fans enough to show up. Back in the day guys showed up and actually somewhat played football but anymore might as well put flags on them. The game has become stupid and irrelevant

Bottom line I like the fact we as Hawks can still play the disrespect card, especially RW. That dude burns with a white hot fire to eliminate those who doubt him. This is just fuel on the fire.

Perhaps. Who knows what motivates individual players, and I'm sure it varies from player to player.

But if we take Russell for his word, it doesn't bother him a bit, at least not during games or practices. He's constantly saying that you need to screen out the noise. It's my belief that the sport is so intense, so complicated, that you have to condition your mind to focus on only the task at hand and not let other distractions bother you. I honestly don't think these snubs are going to make a difference one way or another as to how they perform.
