While today WWE product absolutely sucks there was a time - back in the 90's - -when a group of people put together the greatest athletic\entertainment program for men that has ever been created. These performers gave their all (especially their health) to entertain the fans - this product was known as ECW and while the final outcome of the match was per-determined, the action and the physicality was anything but "Phony".

I was approached by a wrestling promoter in Hawaii, went to a few work out/practice sessions, declined the audition when they thought I was ready. I know full well what athletes/acrobats/actors these guys are. I also know full well how scripted and played the action is.

I'm sorry it offends you but pro wrassling, at least as a competition or a sport, is 100% phony. Even the blood, while real, is "manufactured". Look at an old wrassler's forehead sometime; all that scar tissue is from self inflicted cuts the designated bleeders ("red turns to green" is a common motto of second level guys) give themselves with implements hidden usually in their wrist wrappings, and always on the scalp because the scalp bleeps profusely and a bright crimson that looks good on camera.

Generally speaking, the local sports radio guys are fairly laid back, as you might expect in this part of CA. I was somewhat surprised by both the tone and hardline questions posed to Jed, though I did find it refreshing that the team's flag ship station didn't back down from trying to get answers that hosts and fans alike were curious about, to say the least.

I have to agree. I detested Hairball as a coach of our most hated rival but watching those idiots York and Balke was nauseating. I actually had some sympathy for the man after listening to that press conference.Its amazing he had the success he had in that dysfunctional situation.

Holmgren makes so much sense really. He loves the area, he has always to coach that team, he's available, and still wants to coach, and he's the classy sort of guy with a big enough name to wipe away the stench of this last screw up.
It's the closest they could do to bringing back Bill Walsh.

Probably not a good mix. If Harbaugh's desire for control and personality was too much for Balke and York, Holmgren wouldn't work a lot better. They'll hire some yes man.

I particularly enjoyed Harbaughs sons letter, especially the part where he explains that for all the complaints about Seattle and KC fans, that is how to aquire a HF advantage, and if he was an opposing player or coach he would look forward to playing in Santa Clara, and that fans need to learn how to be loud all of the time, not just on third down in a game they are comfortably ahead in, and stay in the stadium after half time.....

Just confirms everything I have believed and said about the "faithful" for the last decade....

The Yorks and their son have no business in professional football. You cannot run a football team like your restaurant business, ordering around qualified people and firing them at will with no plan in place moving forward.

I think people need to actually listen to the interview with York and not just rely on the transcript. The written words do not covey just what a little Weasel York is like the recorded interview does and where you can actually hear him lying continuously. I was in shock at how my intuition scored York as a complete incompetent sociopath who obviously is a spoiled little entitlement brat the longer the interview went on. And I was in amazement that this is who the reigns to the 49er Kingdom had been handed too? York, like any spoiled little insecure prince, will not allow any employee to remain on his payroll who will not be kissing his Royal ass. Unfortunately for 49er fans this isn't a trait that is found in your successful coaches.
