I would wonder if the best two players on my D are coming back. I would be wondering what the hell happened to my OLine last year.

Obviously, I am a huge fan of that team so the term is absurd. Half the time (or more) it's just an out people use when they cannot discuss a topic or have no relevant point to make.

Just thought some of you could rationally discuss this, and I did make it clear that I respect Thomas, I like him and I am not making any judgements about him as a person based upon this comment. They used that word several times, and it really stuck in my head afterwards, because I had never heard that word used to describe a player. I thought they had made an interesting observation, but looking back after yesterday's comments, it's clear that they were just parroting things Thomas had told them about himself.

From this and his comments about "knowledge of the game" and "confidence" we can deduce Thomas' definition of soul: Ability to feel things, show emotion, exude confidence, understand (the game) on a deeper level. I personally do not feel as thugh any of these traits have a lick to do with skin color.

It's also ironic to me that reports came mid yr that Seattle's core players did not feel Russell Wilson was "black enough" and Richard Sherman claimed people were "racist" for using the word "thug" after his on air rant, despite the fact that no ethnic slurs were attached to it. Obviously, race is an issue for these men, and you cannot on one hand dole out that card and take it back on the other. Whether positive or negative, they are making this an issue.

To me it is all an interesting confirmation of what I am sure exists in all NFL franchises, including SF's.

I was born and raised in Seattle, 1975. Attended several Seattle Public Schools with a student body of a variety of ethnic backgrounds. Racism was never an issue. Maybe it's different in Southern states, not so much in WA.

My grade school was 26% white and I'm currently a minority in the city that I live in. Race enters my mind about never. It's a normal part of my life. It's a LOT different where I am from than Seattle bro, a lot different.

The only time I even consider an issue like this is when someone else makes an issue of it. Which your players have done twice now in a public forum.
