Yeah, reading this morning, I keep seeing Rodgers' day described as "good" so I have to wonder if anyone checked the box score.

He was FAR better in week 1 when we manhandled them.

The Green Bay D did a great job holding RW in check for 3 quarters, but that's about the extent of their "domination". Rodgers was shut down, Lacy was shut down, and Lynch had over 150 yards rushing, averaging well over 6 YPC.

Oh one other thing that I forgot to mention that makes me wonder about how well GB is going to handle this in the long run. When asked about the onside kick all the coaches including McCarthy and pretty much all the players didn't hesitate to point out that the Bostick kid was supposed to block for Jordy Nelson behind him and basically blew his assignment.

Do you think you would ever hear that come out of the Seattle, New England, Denver or even the San Fran locker room? Because I don't. Maybe he catches crap behind the scenes but I'm willing to bet that our coach and players would deflect that question rather than throw one of their teammates under the bus to the press. Didn't sit well with me.

I thought the same thing, Kal- also, Rodgers seemed pretty critical of the playcalling, something I doubt we'd hear RW say at least.

I absolutely agree. I remember Mora throwing a kicker under the bus during his brief stint after a brutal loss to Chicago. But for McCarthy to blame it all on that kid was ridiculous. The loss was a team effort and the HC was most responsible IMO. Low class.

Rodgers took a couple digs at it after the game saying there were times when GB was too conservative.
I think this type of loss could unravel that team, especially with the Lions and Vikes on the upswing and a real coach in Chicago.

The more I'm reading the more aggravated I'm getting about this narrative.

Rodgers was shut the h3ll down, Lacy was shut the h3ll down, but RW stunk for 3 quarters so that means GB was clearly the better team?

I'm not sure I'm as ready to cede that as some.

RW had a slightly smaller rating for the day, but outside of that, GB was statistically outplayed in virtually every phase, weren't they?

All this teeth gnashing over deserve and luck ... news flash:

Luck Counts!!

Unless he's playing Tom Brady :)

And in two weeks Tom Brady won't count either and I won't care if anyone call us lucky on the way there.

Wow Pope...This is EXACTLY what they did to get the win. What a call![/quote]

Thanks for noticing Monkey.
It didn't take great wisdom or divine intervention for that insight, just a little common sense. I don't know about you guys but I was on my knees more than a Porn star in a gang bang yesterday. Hopefully the knees will recover in time for the Super Bowl. (Just in case a little more divine intervention is needed). Gonna be fighting the devil and his spawn (Bellicheat and Tommy) in that one, epic battle to close the gates of hell and make it 2 in a row. Go Hawks.

He just spent about 45 minutes on Seattle's side of the 50 with excellent protection from his line and one of the best receiving corps in the league. He went 19 for 33 for 174 yards, 1 TD, 2 picks and a rating of 54.Hes 0-3 vs. Wilson. And yet he's the Teflon man, much like Manning. Its never his fault even though he Is a bad throw by Michel Vick from never even getting to the big game. And over in the AFC Luck went 12 for 33 for 121 yards, 2 picks and no TDs. And yet I heard him described this morning as the best young QB in the league. You cant make this stuff up folks.

Why yes. Yes they were!
After gifting Green Bay 3 first half turnovers, and terrific field position, they managed to turn all of that into just 16 points. That's it. Just one touchdown and three short field, field goals.
Gave us the game? Really? They didn't have enough of a lead to give us anything. They COULD have, but could have would have should have, they DIDN'T. That's because our defense STOPPED them several times including goal line stops. What our defense did in the face of all those turnovers..now THAT is impressive!
Seattle took the game from them. They out gained out physicalled, and played the Packers much of the second half. That's a FACT.

My respect for him was shot long ago. It was COMPLETELY shot after that cheap shot he put on Tony Romo. He clearly went after his knee.

That was a savage attempt to injure our QB. Honestly when he got hit I thought he might be concussed or injure his knee. I was surprised he pulled it together but that little dude has done so much amazing stuff I shouldn't be surprised anymore.
It was poetic justice to see the a hole Mathews gassed on the sidelines with his hands on his hips while Seattle was winning. RW and Beast make a lot of people look like that but that visual was particularly satisfying.

I think they are talking about one of the interceptions where Russell was trying to tackle the DB. Mathews blind sided him, gave RW a shot to the head, and drew a 15 yard penalty. He ought to draw a fine and suspension IMO. Russell was in no position to make the tackle at the point Mathews unloaded on him.

There is a bit of a controversy about why Russell wasn't checked more thoroughly for a concussion after that hit. Apparently it took about 2 seconds to clear him and that the concussion protocol was not followed. Sounds like a legitimate question to me as Russell's head snapped back quite violently.
