New DC?

Postby NorthHawk » Tue Feb 03, 2015 1:55 pm

So, any guesses on who the new Defensive Coordinator will be?
Some people are saying Ken Norton, but I don't know if he wants the job.
Maybe Kris Richard if Pete thinks he has the chops?
They do have some good talent within they system that might be candidates.

Who from the outside should or might be considered?

I think it was (is) always going to be Richards unless he defects to be Quinn's DC in the ATL.

I have no preference at all between one of either Kris Richard or Ken Norton.
I do REALLY want to see one of them get promoted though! That's really my only preference, that someone get promoted from within.

Norton, he's been around and brings a lot of energy.

This is who I brought up prior to the SB and nothing has changed my mind on that, barring Carroll reuniting with an old DC, I still feel he "fits" best amongst the staff currently under contract.

Hes the guy I wish Oregon would have gotten for DC instead of Pellum. Although does a DC, make as much as an NFL LB coach? I don't know.

Maybe he doesn't want to be a DC.
Some people find a job they absolutely love and don't need to advance to be fulfilled.
It's not as if he's getting minimum wage, either so maybe Coach Norton doesn't have designs on moving up.
He's a great LB coach, so as far as I'm concerned he can coach there as long as he wants.

Oh me too North, it is just he is the guy on staff I could best see making that move is all.

It's Pete's Defense. It's what he wants to run and others just learn to run it.
Some might be more aggressive, but it is the same concepts and assignments/responsibilities from DC to DC.
Maybe a little wrinkle here and there, though.
