Bob, there's no way I can keep up with you! I've been watching the talent reports on NFL network, and even so, I am not nearly familiar enough with the players from college to make a draft prediction that deep! I will predict this just for fun, even though the probability is entirely low given the Seahawks' tendency not to trade away picks to move up drastically, and also for their emphasis on work ethic and love of the game (which is hard to determine based off cursory review on the internet) :
1st Round (14) (trading next year's 1st round, and this year's 3rd round and 6th round): Danny Shelton, DT, UW.
2nd Round (63): Eric Kendricks, OLB/ILB, UCLA
3rd Round (95): traded
4th Round (112): Laurence Gibson, OT, VA Tech
4th Round (130): Jamison Crowder, WR, Duke
4th Round (134): Justin Cox, CB/S, Miss St
5th Round (170): Clayton Geathers, S, UCF
5th Round (167): Terrance Magee, RB, LSU
6th Round (180): Ty Montgomery, WR, Stanford
6th Round (209): traded
6th Round (214): Robert Myers, OG, Tennessee St
7th Round (248): Shane Carden, QB, ECU

I know, I know ... we don't need a QB. Part of the philosophy though ... always compete. Only one of these I really "just have a feeling about" is Eric Kendricks. If we hit on that one, I'll be happy. Danny Shelton is a dream to go up an get, and we do have a fair number of picks to work with ... so I put it in there. Thanks for making me do some homework, Bob. I didn't have time to throw in extra names, so I'll just compete with one guy in each slot.

GO SEAHAWKS!!!

Oh I can't claim intimate familiarity with all these players. I do have my favorites of course, from Senior Bowl week and the Shrine game as well as the combine, but I also rely on trusted sources like Rob Rang and Drew Boylhart and draw heavily from prospects Seahawks.com reported having visits.

I don't see many starters in this group, but some rather attractive developmental players. So I am not locked into players that address immediate needs. My current man crush is on Henry Anderson, a defensive lineman, who is tall 6' 6" but is able to get low in protection. I think he can be a dominant rusher and stopper.

But, in general it is a crap shoot. I put together a draft to meet Bob's criteria, a great system, by the way, but I have already made alterations. It may take me a little time before I can get this thing together. Changes happen quickly in this process, but it is interesting that most of the changes are not in the players, but only in the perception of the players.

Well, it is after all what I'd do if it was me, not necessarily what I think Pete and John (who more than most actually do tend toward BPA) will do. Having lost and allowed to leave so much of our O-line (not a strength in the first place) I kinda like the idea of loading up on prospects and letting them fight it out in camp ... it's not like all of our picks are going to make the roster anyway. Besides, believing that we're going to go heavy on the O-line I kinda overloaded names there in the hopes of hitting on a couple

I don't see Ty Montgomery lasting that long IF he does he could be a huge steal. He chopped us up, in Eugene and on the farm.

OK................... I'm gonna play too, despite the fact that John and Pete take Bruce Irving, Christine Michael, and James Carpenter....each of which had the middle name of WHO? when we drafted them.

I will make my picks by the time the draft starts on Thursday.

Well, time for my annual post Here goes nothin' ... lol

2. 63 Preston Smith, DE Mississippi St.
Mitch Morse, OL Missouri
Ty Montgomery, WR Stanford

3. 95 Ty Sambrailo, OT Colorado St.
Henry Anderson, DE Stanford
Hroniss Grassu, C Oregon

4. 112 Alex Carter, CB Stanford
Josue Matias, G Florida St
Tre McBride, WR, William & Mary

4. 130 Frank Clark, DE Michigan
Tyler Lockett, WR Kansas St
Kenny Bell, WR Nebraska

4.134 Tray Walker, CB Texas Southern
Tre Jackson, G Florida St
David Johnson, RB Northern Iowa

5. 167 Josh Shaw, CB USC
Max Garcia, C Florida
Lydon Trail, DE/DT Norfolk St.

5. 170 Tyeler Davison, DT Fresno St.
Chris Conley, WR Georgia
Mark Glowinski, G West Virginia

6. 181 Darren Waller, WR Georgia Tech
BJ Finney, C Kansas St.
Mike Davis, RB South Carolina

6. 209 Robert Myers, G Tennessee St.
Shaquille Mason, C Georgia Tech
Terry Poole, T San Diego St

6. 214 Jimmy Jean, CB Alabama-Birmingham
Quinton Spain, OL West Virginia
Rob Crisp, T NC St.

7. 248 Deandre Smelter, WR Georgia Tech
Kristjan Sokoli, DT Buffalo
Julian Wilson, CB Oklahoma

DGB to the Hawks would be great, but I think he will be long gone by 63. A trade up a few spots could be realistic this year as we finally have some extra picks to work with. I could see a trade down, though, maybe we could fleece someone for a future pick like we did to Denver for what turned out to be ET. I really like Ty Montgomery, Tyler Lockett, Preston Smith, Frank Clark, Tray Walker and Jimmy Jean. They all seem like Seahawks to me...

One player that is sticking in my mind is Jeremy Langford, RB Michigan State.
He's a 3 down back with good speed and very good pass blocking skills.
Not sure if we want to spend more draft capital on a RB, but if it upgrades the depth and if he is considered by our FO as a real possibility to replace Marshawn, he might be someone to keep an eye on.

And to Govandalls again for getting our new punt returner!

BTW all, I'm searching for correct pick with the search function on word using a c&p from NFL . com, so if you got one I didn't find (spelling, dash, punctuation, like that) raise your hand.

Govandalls is on fire! He got both our 4th rounders and has 4 points now!

ObS also hit on Mark Glowinski and got the point for having him in the right round.

I finally got on the board with Terry Poole.

When was the last time a team drafted 7 offensive lineman in one draft? Something tells me it was back in the 25 round days, and maybe not even then. Seattle has returning lineman, no way were they picking that many. Honestly, unless there were "upgrades" to be had, not sure why any fan would want that many picks spent there, especially in a shallow o line draft. Seattle has five returning lineman that received significant time last season and all started multiple games.

By my count, four are already pretty much locks ( Okung, jean-Pierre, Sweezy and Britt) with the three drafted rookies battling for the fifth job with Bailey ( who also started multiple games). I wouldn't have minded a starting caliber center ( again though people to assess whether a rookie center is an upgrade over one that started a lot of games the last two seasons and is familiar with all the line calls, schemes, and plays run) and some depth, they did not get the center but did address " depth" IMHO. Remains to be seen the quality of that depth, but I'm willing to see it, before I bash it.

Clark will be more like Bennett, able to play DE, and also able to go inside at times and rush as a DT. No way he will stand up as a linebacker. Gwacham has a possibility of playing Leo, but it may take some time to develop him. We may be able to squelch the rumors of trading Irvin. As if I know how to predict what this front office will do. ;)[/quote]

They say they want Irvin for the long term and have talked to him about it.
What it probably means (like I know what this FO is planning) is they will offer him a longer term deal worth more than the extra year overall but spread out.
They tried that with Carpenter and he went for the quick money, so it's a 50/50 gamble at this point.

So, govandals do you have some sort of association with the team?
Do you create the clues in Pete's tweets prior to the selections?

Five right with our FO is a pretty high success rate.
