Bold NFL Draft Predictions ... Mark Yours Here!

Postby SalmonBB » Thu Apr 30, 2015 5:00 am

What are your bold predictions for this year's draft - not just for our Seahawks, but overall? Mark 'em down here so that if you hit on one of them, it is "on the record" and we can all pledge our greatest admiration of you afterward!

Here's mine:
TOP 5 SHAKE-UP/REDSKIN TURMOIL. Tampa takes Mariotta (not Winston, and we see the Eagles Draft Room blow up in confusion), Tennessee passes on Winston (they remember too vividly the last time they selected an athletic QB with issues, and who does not fit their system) and take Leonard Williams, Jags take Amari Cooper (sure!), Raiders take Brandon Scherff (I'm mostly talking out my a$! at this point), Winston drops to the Redskins and it is too much for Snyder to pass on ... with Winston going to the Skins. As an adjunct, and for extra credit ... Gruden objects profusely to Snyder, and resigns as HC over the pick (not sure he'd really do this ... for all I know he may like the kid, but it's fun and simultaneously torturous to imagine some more Snyder draft turmoil).

I also would love to see the Seahawks trade up to get Shelton ... but that's more of a wish than a prediction.

GO SEAHAWKS!!!

Bold and Spicy! Mariota available at # 2. Seattle trades Russell Wilson and Bruce Irvin to Tennessee for the # 2 pick. From John Gruden: The former Bucs coach points out that Mariota is the same size as Jameis Winston but runs 4.52 forty. He is incredibly elusive, and man, is he a playmaker and a great competitor. "I see him functioning in the pocket, out of the pocket, and if you want to run a zone-read, he’ll rip the defense apart. He is like Russell Wilson, only he is 6-4.” :o Relaxes salary cap concerns for the next 4-5 years. Pete rides off into the sunset, John moves on to next challenge........

My prediction is if the Bucs take Mariota then Winston falls past the Jets to Cleveland. He becomes this years Aaron Rodgers - but he doesn't fall as far.
That puts Manziel on the trading block but I doubt they would get more than a 4th for him.

The Draft results up to the Browns:
Bucs: Marcus Mariota
Titans: Leonard Williams
Jags: Dante Fowler
Raiders: Kevin White
Washington: Bud Dupree
Jets: Amari Cooper
Bears: Danny Shelton
Falcons: Vic Beasley
Giants: Brandon Sherff
Rams: Andrus Peat
Vikings: Devante Parker
Browns: Jameis Winston

Most think the Jets would take Winston, but I think they might wait for QB later on and get a top tier WR.
Cooper might not get past Washington, though.

Peters drops due to character concerns, despite all the positive talk and support from the media, Seattle despite needing other areas can't pass on Sherman Jr. Package a couple picks moves up, and improves the best secondary in the NFL for years to come.

The over under on the numbers of offensive linemen the Seahawks will draft this draft ought to be set at five, because my bold prediction is that they will draft AT LEAST 5 O-Linemen.

I would take the under on that. Not saying they shouldn't just think it will be less.

I say they draft at most 3 OL, but I think it's probably going to be 2.
They will sign a UFA or 2 as fodder to fill the spots in TC.
There might be some thought about veteran FA's as well but after the date when it won't impact any future compensatory picks.
