Best Unis

I don't agree but I guess its ok!!

1. Seattle Seahawks - 55 points (four first-place votes) - The Seahawks received the most first-place votes, which was enough to earn them the top spot. The staff are fans of the Seahawks' blue home uniforms in particular, although the road whites aren't bad either.

I didn't like them much at first, but they look a lot better after winning a Super Bowl.

I didn't like the Home Blues at first either, but after the XLVIII I bought a home Chancellor and and away Wilson and I wear them about equally (got the Wilson jersey on now). I still like the Whites better, but the blues are cool too.

The neon green was a bit of a distraction at first, but I've learned to live with it. I like our home blues, the road white jerseys so long as they're worn with blue pants, and the wolf gray. I do not like the road kill all white combo. We've had some really bad luck in those uni's.

I kinda wish they'd bring back the silver helmets so long as they don't include that hideous stoned seagull. It might give the all blue home uniforms a little more color contrast.

Read another "uni ranking" article, and it was nothing but a ranking of who changed their uniforms the least since the Eisenhower administration (less was better). It was ridiculous.

Nice to see an article rank our unis where they belong- the baddest in the history of this league. By far*.

*And yes, I thought this about every permutation of the Hawks' unis since 1976, including the lime green ones. Suck it.

This^^.

Didn't like our new uni at all, but associating it with a Lombardi has helped, to say the least.

I've always enjoyed the Chargers' powdered blues, along with the white helmet.

I love the new uniforms. They were better than the blueblack color we were sporting during the Holmy era. These Royal Blue units are fitting with RW's Father's saying, "Theres a King in every crowd, Russell".
That being said, I'd love, & I mean absolutely LOVE to see a game with this team in the old silver & blue & green retro unis a la 1976 baby. I would really love to see that.

Geez, obi, being that you're such a big Duck fan, I would have thought that you would have loved those lime green unis, no? :)

I don't want to tease you about Uncle Phil, but I will say that think it's pretty clear that UO's uniform adventurism is heavily influenced by corporate entities.

Back to the OP, I would like to see us switch back to the silver helmet with our current logo design. But I do like our current darker blue vs. the steel blue or our original lighter sky blue.

Yeah Phil has been been a mixed blessing. I think you would agree, that WA played above themselves in the Pre-Knight era, and Oregon played below themselves. It is the worst Non rivalry rivalry of all time. The first 50 years they beat our butts. The last dozen years we have crushed theirs. Sorry I went off on a tangent, River. I miss the old PI Forum, except for Tailbator of course!

You don't have to apologize to me about going off on a tangent. IMO there isn't enough traffic in here to justify an off topic forum.

No one liked Tailgator, even most of the Husky posters. The guy was a simpleton, and there was some Husky grads in there that questioned whether or not he actually attended UW. He ran off several posters with his trash talking. And yes, I miss that forum, too. There were a lot of very good posters in there, both Husky fans as well as Ducks and one or two Coug fans. It was really more of a college football forum than it was a Husky forum. I kinda wish I could go back and collect my Jake Locker apologies from the purple bloods like Jaxhusky and Michael Shea. I took one heck of a lot of flack from them because I said he was over rated.

I don't think it was a matter of anyone playing over or under themselves- programs just evolve with different players, programs, systems, and coaches.

Washington was a better program previously, now they've taken a step back while Oregon simultaneously put something special together.

I know what Obi was saying. In the Pac 8-10-12, the constant is USC. Playing above or below them is the measure.

When John McKay was at USC, the conference was referred to as Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs.

I know what Obi was saying.

How is being a better team than the traditional top dog "playing above yourself"?

UW and UO have, at various times, simply been the best teams in the conference- they weren't 'playing above themselves' in being such.

Not to argue about it, and no offense intended for obi- it's just a quibble. I just think it does a disservice to the programs to characterize them that way.

Ok, I see your point. My point was WA was always bigger but they played over themselves, IMHO. Oregon, was not much a power until they built the Moshofsky Center, that was before Knight. Oregon was IMHO an underachiever. I could be wrong.
