Apart from what I think is an overall talent edge, the thing that plays best for the Seahawks is this "Us against the world" mentality. What do you think are the "Chip" building elements? More importantly, does the chip play into the game?

I personally hope that these Hawks get rid of Google, Mozilla Firefox or whatever their server is for the next week-and-a-half, set yahoo! as their collective home page and go straight to the comments below every story and take special issue with how whimsically the word thug is being tossed about by everyone named "BigBallz55" and the like with regard to this team.

Hoping it will stick in the craws of every Hawk, including Zach Miller. He was a Raider once, after all.

I think its starts with the media.

Even before the Sherman post game interview/rant, this thing was set up beautifully.

The networks are going to focus more on Manning and his quest for another SB ring, and the Broncos became the favorites just hours after the initial line was set in Vegas favoring us (on that note, take the Seahawks and the +125 money line, 'cause we're gonna win this thing straight up).

So, yeah, I'm glad we have the chip on our shoulder. It's better to be the under dog in that sense, IMO, because you don't have to dig too deep to get motivated.

Yup, I love the underdog role for the Seahawks! I was never comfortable with the coverage we got as favorites over NO or SF.

The Superbowl is a different beast. Some guys/teams hyperventilate once they take the field on that stage. The Seahawks have no experience under those lights. Apart from sheer talent, the best thing that they can take into that game is a "We'll show you attitude."

Its not motivation that is the issue, it is the emotion that surplants our lack of experience.

The Chip on this team's shoulder was very apparent and blossomed into a very motivating force. This victory is so sweet. Can the hunger be maintained?

Maybe, they are younger than most teams so they might still have that desire and be able to recover from the long season better than an older veteran team.
On the other hand, younger players might take winning for granted.
I don't think that will happen on this team because they have a mind set that is enforced from the top to always get better. If they really live that then there's no reason for a fall off in play.

The draft will be very strange this year - we only have a few areas that really need to be improved and it depends on who isn't re-signed.
