My observations:
1. Duh. Manning MVP. Congrats to him. Well deserved.
2. I believe Earl or Sherm shoulda won, IMHO.
3. Pete shoulda won; neither he nor JS have gotten enough accolades for getting this Hawk team assembled & to a Super Bowl.
4. Big Walt made me cry tears of joy!
5. Congrats to all the Hawk players & coaches nominated! Great seasons.
6. Congrats to Peanut Tillman. Very moving story.
7. Kaep is a loser!!!

Congrats to Big Walt first and foremost. 1st ballot well deserved. I guess I shouldn't take joy in misfortune of others but I'm glad that Bettis and Harrison didn't get in. Bettis simply isn't a HOFer in my book and if Cris Carter wasn't worthy of the first ballot despite being a more complete WR then I don't think Harrison deserves to leap frog the log jam either. Don't care what his inflated Peyton Manning generated numbers say.

As for the single season awards. Kuechly is a great LB. But he didn't deserve the award. Not when he wasn't even the best inside LB this season. I believe there are 6 players more deserving. My vote would have gone to ET.... Then in no particular order, Sherman, Quinn, Watt and Mathis all deserved it more than Kuechly and most importantly Bowman deserved it more than Kuechly. Actually in terms of LBs Lavonte David deserved it more than Kuechly too.

Niner or not, Bowman was actually the player that the media wanted Kuechly to be. He was more consistantly disruptive and making the biggist plays at the biggest moments.

Manning (duh) and I'm actually glad he got both offensive awards. And it's weird that they got they got the Defensive Rookie correct, citing the not sexy interior lineman but they went with the obvious media darling by giving it to Lacy. Keenan Allen should have won Offensive ROY.

I agree on all points. I think Luke is the Golden boy media darling. Trust me, I love his play & think he's a fantastic LB. Congrats to him.... I just think he wasn't the best at his position, like you said, and there were other more deserving players who impacted the game more. But again, it's not like he sucks.

I am so thrilled for Walt. My dog Odie goes by his middle name as his whole name is Walter Odie Seay..... ;-) I guess I need to get him a yellow jacket.

Agree on Bettis. That hometown hero for XL sealed my lifetime disdain for him.
Agree on Lacy. I figured he'd get it... I just think it's really tougher to adjust to the NFL as a WR than an RB. It's not like Eddie was a slouch. Just sayin'
Agree on Def ROY. I was pleased to see an interior big man getting the love. I thought both rookies came across very well, which isn't an easy thing to do in front of such a big crowd.

THIS^^^
I wasn't expecting either Sherm or Earl to win it, though either could have easily, and both are extremely deserving, the problem is, they end up splitting the votes and cancelling each other out.
I know the media is just LOVING Luke, but come on....this is why I hate the media so danged much, this is just STUPID!

If Bowman wasn't deserving, then NO ONE was! He had such a great year, this is the one that bothered me the most. I like Kuechly and I like his upside, but he's NOT playing at the same level that Bowman is...sorry but the media is bloody stupid.
Why is it that such BOOBS have the voting power anyway?
