Superbowl Prediction Thread

Postby Pain_Train » Wed Jan 29, 2014 4:32 pm

I searched around and didn't see another thread so...

I am far more confident in the Hawks beating the Broncos than I had in us beating the 9rs, which I thought was almost a coin flip game. The 9rs matched up well with us.

Simply put, our D is designed to stop the modern NFL passing game. The Saints offered a similar threat, with multiple talented WRs and an imposing TE and we shut them down.

In contrast, the Bronco's D will be the worst we have faced in awhile.

We win this game easily, 31 - 17.

I'm there with you, I was sweating out the Niners game, the Broncos are the AFC's best...the AFC...not exactly scary. Yeah Manning is great blah blah blah, but that TEAM is not.
Seahawks 37-22
Russell Wilson MVP.

I'm going with 23-13 Hawks, MVP Earl Thomas, two picks, one a pick 6 to give us a lead we never relinquish.

20 - 17 Hawks. If PH is able to stay in the game I see 27 - 17 Hawks. Not sure how some folks see the Hawks scoring over 30 in this game.

Captain obvious here, I truly believe if the Hawks are able to maintain a 7 minute time of possession over the Broncos the Hawks win.

Defense gets 2 turnovers. Special teams scores. Lynch goes for 100+. Russell can be normal.

Seahawks, 27-20.

My mantra all week has been Beast Mode.

The more I think about it, the more I see him running wild, and becoming the Super Bowl MVP.

Hmm lots of people see the Donkeys scoring 24. I'm going with we beat their ass 41-23. Pick 6s, porno dances by Bennett after fumble 6es, Wilson just going off, or maybe Beast or Tate or Baldwin or Miller or Willson or who knows maybe Lockette on a fly pattern? Maybe Christine Micheal on a draw play there is no tomorrow after Sunday what the hell? oh yeah I almost forgot we have Harvin, a TD threat on every play if he plays.............Book it.

For the first time I can ever remember, I don't want to make a prediction at all. Thinking about the game itself is just too stressful. I think that the Hawks are the better team, but in the end, a lifetime of dealing with Seattle teams falling short has made me wary of being confident that my team is actually going to win. Denver has the most productive offense in history, even taking into account modern rule changes that favor the passing game, and I just can't bring myself to make a prediction for fear that it will come back to bite me in the ass.

So, I'll pass this time, even though I do think the Hawks are better. If they win, and return to the SB next year, I'll feel freer to make a prediction. But until then, I'm just holding my breath and trying to focus on getting anything done this week...

GO HAWKS!

Seahawks 31
Donkeys 17

No lead will be safe until the final whistle. Manning will throw and throw. If we stop Moreno and Welker then we will win. The Broncos can run the ball, Moreno chalked up 200 plus yards on the Pats if I remember correctly. Ridiculous yards.

The quick slants and crossing routes will be stopped. Manning will beg for holding and PI on every broken up play. The zebras won't call it. Manning will throw 4 int's.

Lynch will have a field day running the ball. Harvin will be explosive both in kickoff returns and catches. Harvin will have one TD. Baldwin one TD.
Lynch will have 2 Td's.
Game over. MVP will be Wilson, or Lynch even.

So you're not too worried about Demarius? He's the only besides Manning that worries me a little.

Dude is a beast. Yes thank you for reminding me about him. One thing I have found that if Welker is hot, Manning will feed Welker constantly, however the Broncos have so many receivers that he has a complete menu of receivers that he can throw to.

I see this as our biggest challenge. They have a lot of talented receivers but you still have to stop the run.

I think 36 - 21 Seattle. But my pick is predicated on a number of things happening. It's hard for me to envision that O being shut down at all. I just don't think it will see the field much by mid-third quarter and your STs will make some huge plays. It's a very intriguing game though because Denver D has stepped up big, they gave talent, and Seattle O has the capability to step up to, and it has talent. The two units no one expects to see much out of may actually decide the game.

Pretty damn close on my player predictions ( minus Lynch's rushing total) but man, I WAY underestimated this defenses dominance....... hard to do, but I did, either that or I way overestimated Denvers offense....

Thank you gentlemen. To be honest, I really felt we played the real SB two weeks ago.

Congrats to all the long suffering Hawk fans, and to Yoder that we all were able to stay together during this epic run. Truly an incredible year!
