Given JS, & PC's talent, why not fill those positions in the 5th-7th round at bargain basement prices...& then watch them perform at 1st round levels, lol. After all, that's their M.O., right? Who needs a 1st round pick when you've got JS!?!?
NorthHawk wrote:The OL definitely needs to be upgraded.
There are a number of mocks that have us taking a Guard first at #32 like Cyril Richardson from Baylor.
Hmm picking #32 has a nice RING to it.
With Rice probably gone if he doesn't restructure and Tate a FA, there might be a big need for a WR.
A tall WR for the Red Zone can help, or maybe someone who can stretch the field.
Maybe someone like Martavis Bryant from clemson at 6-5 and runs real fast.
He might not be a first round pick, but as we don't have a 3rd, we might be able to get him in the 2nd.
Another guy is Kelvin Benjamin from Florida State 6-5 235 with a huge wingspan.

Stop with the we need to draft a WR in the first round. Really?
Who do we need in the first round?
Maybe its a WR.
Really?
But JS and PC have already proven we can win the Superbowl with a bunch of midgets and 7th rounders as our WRs. So please!!!!
I am not saying that we should NOT draft a WR with our first pick. I am just saying that whoever we draft it should be on our O LINE.
Okung is good, and I hope he improves his technique. But the most penalized guy today was our FIRST ROUND O LINE PICK, yes OKUNG!!!
If there is anyone we should get rid of its our o line coach. Again, just based on what I see, I don't know anything else. But its been a problem rightly or wrongly(when they penalize us when we are not guilty) ALL SEASON.
Harvin? Welcome to the family! From what I understand the team loves him, and he loves them. Harvin if you are out there please sign up to the Shack and show me that I am right! My neck is on the line here. And a poster and my friend, Hawkwow's head exploded when you ran that kickoff for a td.![]()

And make no mistake about it Percy, we don't hate you, some of us question you, but as to next year, we believe you and in your excellent abilities.
Man to man, that is what counts. 12th man from us to you!

We have a decent pass rush, finishing with 44 sacks during the regular season.
Still, if we could find a sack specialist a la Robert Quinn or something close, this D would be even more insane.
Now, I know Quinns don't grow on trees, but if we manage to augment that part of our scheme, then it makes everybody - including an already incredible secondary - especially formidable.

That's fair, that being said though, it was Seattle that pressured the QB on the highest percentage of drop backs this season ( and by a large amount I might add) something like 40% of all pass plays, which IMHO directly increased the amount of turnovers. Don't get me wrong, I like sacks and all, but more often than not, I'll take a hurried, ill advised throw, over a sack. Just my opinion of course, but there is really not a lot of arguing to be done over the results. If you break it down even further you see that Seattle is the only team to field I think 5 guys with over 5 sacks. If the Hawks wanted to play Avril every down, I personally think he gets those 14-18 sacks on the season, but I can't say for sure.
HumanCockroach wrote:I agree, I would like to see several o-lineman taken, a big receiver with speed, and probably a TE as I am not sure Zach will be willing to take a pay cut. And of course, there will be a DB or two that no one in the world has heard of drafted and starting to be groomed....LOL

Eaglehawk wrote:And correct point about everyone on the Seahawks loving Harvin. They have absolutely no problems with him.
That to me says alot about the guys on our team. If they don't have a problem with him except a small issue with reps, then why should we?
Hawktawk wrote:I will eat some crow now. I ragged mercilessly on Harvin for being soft. The last 10 weeks Ive been rehabbing shoulder surgery and I still can hardly lift my right arm so I dunno about Harvin anymore. If the guy never does another thing for Seattle he earned it all last Sunday. Ask Buffalo, Minnesota, Detroit, Cincinnati etc. SBs wins don't grow on trees. And if we can get that same type of explosiveness on the field on a regular basis we might have a billboard worth hanging in San Francisco in a few more years...................
