Man I love hearing what he's got to say! He talks about how they won, what they did to win, (awesome details I didn't know). The article also mentions an awesome moment with Carroll and Sherman that tells you EVERYTHING you need to know about why this team achieved what it did.

MAN IT'S GOOD TO BE A SEAHAWKS FAN!!!

EDIT: I just had to comment about one particular quote, even though there are so many intriguing ones, this particular one made me angry, deep down FURIOUSLY ANGRY!
" After Sherman left the stadium, one New Jersey State Trooper in his dress blues said to another, “That broken ankle might keep him out of trouble tonight.”

“Yea,” the other replied."

You know, I hope those two asshats both break their damned ankles! If I'd been there, they would have been apologizing profusely before I reported their badge numbers. Unless I got hauled off for punching them in their mouth first! Pricks!

What was it about that quote (from the troopers) you found so appalling, monkey?

It seems to me a big personality might be safely assumed to want to blow off some steam after becoming a SUPERBOWL CHAMPION (:))- did you take it as assuming something 'thuggish' (or worse)?

I agree Sherm is one of the last guys on the team they should assume would need to be kept out of trouble, but I'm doubting they knew much about the guy except that his face was all over every media outlet for the last 2 weeks

Unless I'm missing something, I don't see where that comment is offensive, unless you're trying to read into it something racial or otherwise discriminatory. I've never been in jail and I wouldn't take offense if a cop said something like that to me.

I definitely took it as something thuggish or worse, yes. Those guys knew who Richard Sherman is, and that would mean they know about his blow up after the NFC championship game, which tells me this is yet another thug comment...or worse.
I could be wrong or reading too much into those comments but I doubt it. They know who Richard Sherman is, and I doubt given what they said, they have a high opinion of him.
It's possible they just meant, "blow off steam", but that's hard for me to believe after Shermans rant.

OK, I see where you guys are coming from, but I do think it was racially motivated. I think it was racially motivated and aimed specifically at Sherman because of his rant, it's just more "thug" talk.
I might be wrong, but that was definitely how I read it, and how I think it was meant.
If I am wrong, well no harm done, but the cops knew who he was, and the whole world knew what he had said, and saying what they did, in light of who they knew he is...yeah, that was racially motivated I think.

K, I see where you guys are coming from, but I do think it was racially motivated.

I see where you're coming from, too, but I think you're reading way too much into it absent any more context.

I don't want to make excuses for two guys I know nothing about, but I could see myself uttering something like that for anybody on a night like that regardless of race, creed, color, or religion.

I can see both sides. Off the top of my head I would say, to myself: why would they say that comment to Sherman if they did not think that he would get into trouble like a thug ?" This is what Monkey sees, and probably, depending on how it was said I would agree with Monkey as well.

But if the officers laughed at Sherm and were joking, etc. and he took offense, then he needs to lighten up a bit. All depends on how they looked at him and said it.
Police officers are very black and white, either they are cool or they are asshats and I have met hundreds and most are cool.

If Sherm got upset, there must have been a reason no? Or did he even get upset?

Fair enough, and point taken...it is absent of enough context to be sure of anything.
I was making the assumption that these guys knew full well who that was they were talking about, and it was just more of the "Thug" crap...but hey, maybe you're right.

Part of why I jumped to that assumption is probably a bias I have about Jersey cops, based mostly on reputation that may or may not be completely BS.

SO yeah, I'll walk that back, context is important.

There was absolutely no mention of Sherm getting upset, Eaglehawk, they said it about him after he'd passed by them. I doubt he heard the comment at all. Which is also why I think they weren't joking...but again, I admit I could be way off, and I don't have enough context to know anything...it's just a gut reaction.
