I'm starting to worry about the reality of keeping Wilson, Thomas and Sherman together. If the cap continues to jump as projected we'll be okay, but it doesn't feel like we have a bunch of players with over payed contracts anymore. I guess we could try to extend Sherman now but we would have no room left afterwards. Also, Wilson will be in year 3 of his contract and theoretically we could wait until year four to extend him to buy time for the cap to grow.
Hopefully Sherman doesn't feel he needs to be payed the most to be considered the best.

The good side is that the team has a lot of young talent to fill in for players like Tate and Thurmond. As much as I like Tate, if Harvin can stay healthy and they draft and/or sign a cheaper big outside WR, that situation will be an upgrade over what Tate provided (on paper at least). Also the front office has done a very good job of staggering cap hits. That's also why they have to get Thomas inked this offseason (Sherman too if possible), that way they can front load some of the cap hit into this season where they won't have to worry about his average salary as much when they ink they extend other guys.
Be prepared for Lynch to no longer be the starting RB starting with the 2015 season, especially if Michael comes along as expected. The structure of his contract screams for his release at that point while Michael is still on his rookie number and clearing money for Okung and Wilson to get raises.

Lynch is one of those decisions that they will have to make, and most if not all saw his number as to much, and that was before Micheals was drafted.... next season is the year were things get interesting. People were upset with Clemmons, Red , and Tate, but next year will be the "hard" choices.

Now, if we could only get our pal Thomas to sign the magical 8.5 Mil a year contract for the sake of continuity.
