How Much Seahawks Swag Do You Own?

Postby Vegaseahawk » Sun Mar 23, 2014 2:59 pm

I've got a dozen old football cards from 1981,game tickets, programs, & a bin full of seahawk banners, flags, lighted signs, christmas tree lights, a personally signed picture of SA that I got from him when I met him at a trade show here in Vegas, a picture of me with Dave Krieg from a game I attended in 1986 & a really nice hand carved wood Seahawks logo that my buddy made for me. This stuff gets put up in my man cave at the beginning of preseason. I also have around a half dozen Seahawks tshirts, ball caps, a ski jacket I bought in1992 on sale for $60 at penneys, (the Behring years), everything was so cheap then. I just added a 12" window sticker for my suv that shows the Seattle skyline with the roman numerals XLVIII, a 3'x5' flag from the championship, & several refrigerator magnets, beer glasses, & even a fishing lure.

Just about everybody else will beat me when it comes to Seahawk possessions, lol.

What I do have, limited as it is, I still enjoy: my Jim Zorn replica jersey that I've had since '92, and my fan letter reply from 1979, when I wrote him as a 10 yr old, and he signed that along with several Sport magazine pics I'd cut out and sent him.

Got a 1976 and '77 tops football card of Zorn, '77 Steve Largent, and a few others from that time (RB/Sherman Smith, LB/ Terry Beason, etc.)

My latest addition - the Super Bowl Champions Seahawks hat! Been waiting to sport that one forever, and it's nice to do so 15 minutes from the 49ers new stadium:)

Far, far to much..... LOL.... to many jerseys to list, and not your regular superstar versions either, those too, but my closet is chock full of jerseys with names like Kirkland, Peterson, Boulware,Randle,Springs (x 4), autographed Burleson, as well as the Thomas, Sherman, Chancellor, Haselbeck,Alexander, Easily, Kennedy, Largent etc.... and that's just the jerseys LOL. Can't seem to go many places without picking something up, even if it's only a key chain. Special box for dozens apon dozens of ticket stubs, game programs etc....

Yep, far, far to much LOL.... call it a vice...

Yeah, too much to list, but I will say that when I gear up for a game you'd be hard pressed to find more than 2 items on me or in my possession that ain't bearing a Seahawks brand. Not just cloths either; wallet, checkbook, key chain, whiskey flask, you name it. My Riviera is branded, I'm branded, even my company work truck is branded ... even got a life sized Shaun Alexander fathead ... I am jealous as hell of any signed swag y'all got though, I never get the opportunity for signatures attending away games pretty much exclusively.

My signed stuff always comes from a friend or a relative ( Burleson autographed game jersey was won in a raffle by my father in law and given to me for Christmas one year, autographed mural was won on E-bay by brother in law and given as a gift, autographed Mack Strong mini helmet was received from a buddy at a charity event) it's not as cool as it sounds ( at least in my case LOL, Though I did get to meet a couple Hawks players when I was in HS) or at least not as cool as Zorns signed stuff. People just ALWAYS know what to get me LOL. When in doubt Hawk out.....

Have you seen the new special Nike Hawks hightops? Seriously considering ponying up the 160 bucks to get a pair. Will only wear on game days so they'll probably last longer than I do...LOL.

Zorn76,

I always get a little smile on my face when I see your avatar. When I was 6 years old, my Dad's buddy went to a game and brought me back a #10 white Jim Zorn jersey (in about 1980). This is what made me a Seahawks fan as I had never watched football before this. I live in British Columbia, so I was lucky enough that all the Seahawks games were on local TV. My first real memory of any Hawks game was beating Denver in 1983 playoffs.

The day after the Hawks beat the Rams this year and the playoffs were ready to go, I put that kids Zorn jersey I got in my front window. Had a few neighbours ask what it was, and I told them it was the jersey that made me a Seahawks fan.

When Zorn raised the 12th man flag against New Orleans in the Divisional round, I didn't say it out loud to my buddy who was at my place watching the game, but I took it as a little sign that this was going to be the year. Something came over me in that moment.

I kept that jersey in my window for about 5 days after the Super Bowl, and then put it back in my safespot until my basement gets finished.

I just wanted to share that with ya, seeing you are a big Zorn fan.

Agent 86 - Great story, bro.

Yeah, I guess you could say that when I wrote that letter and got a reply (his letter was a prefix copy but, still:), I was won over completely. Funny you should mention the white #10 Zorn jersey, since I was able to get ahold of one, sort of. It was really a cheap polyester short sleeve shirt more than anything, but I still wore it to grade school plenty, and caught a lot of flak from my Raider friends, who of course were rooting for a winner in those days.

My Grandfather and father were born and raised in Renton, so I got hooked early on the team during summer visits. I grew up - and still live - in 49er and Raider country. So nice our team was able to get that monkey off their back. Once the Bucs and Saints won theirs, I was wondering when we could join the Lombardi fraternity.

What a great season. How lucky are we to have #3 running the show? Russell Wilson is nothing short of a Godsend, and he only wants to get better and win forever:) Super Bowl XLVIII ended up being the game we could only dream of, then it happened. 7 weeks later, and I'm still in awe of what occurred.

Looking forward to 2014. I think we have an excellent shot at repeating.

GO SEAHAWKS!!!

I forgot to mention my #10 retro jersey with Zorn on the back, it's my favorite, & the one I always wear to games.

I don't think a year has gone by in the past 35 or so that I haven't had at least a T-shirt. I have about 5 or 6 baseball caps of varying degrees of cleanliness, the newest and cleanest I save as my game lid. One of my favorite Hawks item was my "Let's Get Schmitt Faced" tee shirt, which featured Owen Schmitt's bloodied face after he had hit his head with his helmet so hard in pregame introductions that it caused very excessive bleeding. It's the only item I've ever bought that had someone else's name, number, or likeness on it.

I am planning on getting a full sized "12" flag soon to fly outside my house along with Old Glory. I had a flag pole that snapped in a wind storm (the pole was rated at 70 mph flagged, gives you an idea how strong the winds are around here), and I've committed to buying and installing another sometime this spring or summer. Once I get that installed, I'll by my "12", which by the way, are a little hard to come by as they are a Seahawks trademark.

Signed SA (#37 white away), t-shirts, sweatshirts, pjs out the wazoo + a rain golf jacket and a new SB champ DVD. Even my friends (who follow other teams) get hawked out on game day.

I'm really not all that sentimental about old swag, sounds counterintuitive to what you know about me. Anyway, Bob, you want my signed SA? If so, PM your address.

I collect hats and Seahawk hats or no exception. I especially like my cap in the original Seahawk blue I purchased at TC in Cheney. I have autographs on it of Koren Robinson, Jeremy Stevens, and my favorite Mack Strong. Between my wife and daughter we have several T-Shirts and sweat shirts including hoodies. One thing I don't have is anything in the new team colors though I did buy my wife a T-Shirt with the new colors that has Wilson's #3 on the front and his slogan "why not us" on the back. Several of the items it bought for my wife and daughter were during the NFL's Breast Cancer Awareness campaign and so they are pink. I have various flags, banners, and key chains.

This windshirt (actually branded with TPC Las Vegas logo, but still looks unmistably Seahawks): https://www.dotgolf.com/image/cache/dat ... 0x500.jpeg

This jacket (few years old now): http://product.images.prosportsmemorabi ... 0793-Y.jpg

I don't actually have a ton. Three Seahawks Hats... 5 Jerseys: Largent, Brown (Chad), Galloway, Tatupu and Sherman.

Richard Sherman Bobblehead on my desk. I wanted Wilson but everyone was out when I was in Seattle... took forever just to find Sherman, all I could seem to find was Kam Chancellor. On the amusing side, the bobblehead has become quite the conversation piece around the job since the NFC Championship. lol

I really haven't gone on my championship binge yet. I bought a Legion of Boom Championship T-Shirt but I plan on getting a hat, the DVD and I want to get two Jersey's. The big problem is I want the Superbowl Jerseys but they weren't customizable when I first was looking. I want to get a White #24 with "Beastmode" on the back and a Home #3 with "Dangeruss" (Sherman jersey is Grey). I can't decide if I'd rather have the knicknames or the superbowl edition jerseys.

P.S. In my book, HC wins the best fleeting jersey contest. I remember I was so psyched when they signed Julian Peterson but until you just mentioned you had a "Peterson" jersey I had completely forgotten he was a Seahawk. Took me about 30 seconds to remember. Perhaps a word to the wise about all those people here upset that the Seahawks haven't made a splash in Free Agency.

Yeah, I used to joke if I bought the jersey the guy was as good as gone. Bought the Peterson Jersey, the next season the F*ck changed his damn number, then the next he was gone..... LOL. I have more than just those listed LOL, have been trying to get young first or second year players for the last couple years just to give myself a few more seasons.... LOL.

I got as gifts, the commemorative Superbowl DVD shirt and ball cap. Pretty excited about those!
I have several jerseys, two throwbacks, two from before the most recent change...unfortunately I don't have any of the new look jerseys though.
I have so many ball caps I've lost track, and have to throw old ones out from time to time, because they get so crusty.
I have tons of shirts, pull over sweatshirts, ...truth is most of what I wear on a day to day basis is Seahawks swag.

Maybe my favorite stuff is the Steve Largent all pro card I got signed when I met Steve at a men's breakfast at a church in Tulsa.
It was so weird meeting him after so many years of looking up to him as a kid. He was always bigger than life to me when I was young, then when I actually met him and shook his hand the first time, all I could think was, "I could crush this guy in a fight, he's so small!" (I was 6'1 230 lbs. of solid muscle when I actually met him back in 2001. Not so much with the solid muscle anymore, nowadays I have furniture problems...my chest fell into my drawers ;) )

Still Steve was exactly the genuine, honest, high character man you think he is. Meeting him, he actually exceeded all my pre-conceived notions and expectations of him, and that's really saying something seeing as how when I was a kid I wanted to BE him, and couldn't have had a higher opinion of him both as a player and a person.

Great thread, Vegas my man.

I have a whole bunch of Seahawks stuff:

1.) Vintage, early- to mid-80s Seahawks—team and individual players—football cards: mostly Topps.

2.) An old-school-Hawks-logo helmet on one of my bookshelves.

3.) An old-school-Hawks-logo curtain over one of my windows.

4.) Two heavy-winter Hawks coats — one of them a parka with the old-school logo; the other, a high-schoolish letter jacket with the new logo.

5.) Five Hawks replica jerseys in my closet: four of them—Joey Galloway, Ricky Watters, Shawn Springs and Rick Mirer—old-school, true to the forms of their namesakes; the other—Matt Hasselbeck—in the form of the 2002 uniform/ logo change.

6.) One actual real-deal(-with-Bill-McNeal™)*, old-school-Hawks-logo NFL jersey (i.e. not replica material) with the number 12—and the word "TEAM" in all caps across the top in back—on it.

7.) A photo of the 1983 team they sent me when I wrote them at 10 years old.

8.) A whole bunch of odds and ends (all varieties of Hawks logos)—everything from baseball caps to t-shirts to pencils to plush carnival pillows to all sizes of footballs to all sorts of windbreaker jackets—here and there, i.e. not sure where.

9.) An old-school-Hawks-logo pool cue.

10.) An old-school-Hawks-logo heavy fleece throw.

11.) The 2005 NFC championship game on DVD.

12.) Super Bowl XL on DVD. (I like to watch it when I feel a strange need to get seriously po'd.)

13.) The 2013 NFC championship game on my DVR.

14.) Super Bowl XLVIII on my DVR.

Those are about all I can think of right now.

What I really want more than anything is a coupla pairs of really-crusty-yet-oddly-enough-still-remarkably-warm Seagals panties—autographed by the Seagals by whom they had once been worn—that I can frame and hang on my wall. That would unequivocally be the suh-weeeeeeetest piece of Hawks memorabilia I can possibly fathom having.

(Psssst: Got any ideas how I can get some of those?)

While I just his the "high lights" of my stuff I don't know how I neglected to mentioned one of my most prized possessions, The Steve Largent Wheaties box. I used have two of them but I donated one to a favorite sports pub I used to frequent that had a lot of Seahawks memorabilia but was missing the Largent Wheaties box IMHO.
