Couldn't find story through your link, HC.

Here's an easier one...

http://espn.go.com/nfl/story/_/id/10691 ... ny-hit-run

How Culliver is still on the 49ers is beyond me to begin with, even before his latest weirdness this morning.

In short, he sucks. Too bad he blew it, though, because SF was apparently on the brink of signing this loser to a relatively long term deal. I think he just ended his career by the bay now. Either that, or they're a lot more desperate at that position than I originally thought.

I am willing to bet he is on the roster beginning of the yr. Though I am not sure he is worth the headache. Maybe it's bad to say, but I don't care all that much what these guys do in the offseason. Short of Aaron Hernandez, I just don't. Not anymore than the coworker who has a DUI or has done god knows what. I just want them to make me happy on Sundays lol.

I hear you.

Just think as a pure football player, he ain't that good. They've cut him enough slack in the past, now I think he'll get cut here soon enough.

Well in 2012 he was near the top of the league in passes defensed and was excellent until about 3/4's of the way rhrough the season. Then he kinda fell apart. So the jury is still out on him. He probably fell back because he is a bit of a headcase and he lacks focus. But he is tall, rangy and a sub 4.4 guy. From a talent standpoint I was excited for him this yr. And we had him. And if I am not mistaken, he was a mid/late rd pick.

I always hear how bad our corners are, yet last yr our pass D was ranked 7th. And that was with a pass rush that was only 19th in sacks (without looking it up). They must be doing something right.

I care. After a short vacation after the season, I want my guys working out 6 days a week, 8-10 hours a day. They have to treat the game as if it is a full time job, and that includes keeping your nose clean during the offseason. That's one of the reasons why I was so pissed last year when Percy Harvin got arrested for suspicion of DUI. I felt it was one hell of a risk, and spoke directly to his character. I got beat up pretty bad over that one.

I also care about my co workers getting DUI's, especially if they're a good worker, more so if they happen to be a friend, as it could cost them their job and ruin their life.

Valid points Riverdog. I just don't have enough time to care. Lol and as my posts may indicate, I am not dealing with my own stress all that well lately. I can't really worry about Chris Culliver acting like a fool. I don't feel like these guys represent me personally. I care more about how hard they work in practice and how well they play on the field, becauae their performance is what I am watching. I'd have gladly accepted coke snorting Michael Irvin or Lawrence Taylor in his prime, because those men competed.

After reading the article, the funny thing is if he had just stopped everything would have been fine. The bicyclist had only minor injuries and it's not like he was driving with a loaded assault gun. His lack of judgment aline may be reason to cut him. That and as Zorn said, maybe his play at the end of 2012 is a true indication of the type of player he is - which was pretty much suck.

There are things that bother me and things that I realize a co-worker (or even my former self) could have done. Any kind of assault or battery is NOT OK - nor is fleeing the scene after you've injured a human being at the hands of your own recklessness. And to top it off, dude threatens a guy w/ brass knuckles for
Attempting to detain him.

LOSER needs help. To say you don't have time to care about that... And then to go tit-for tat on a rival fan forum w/ erroneous info kinda jabs at your ethics, mang. Just sayin'

Well, the guy to this point is better known for his off field stuff, and he helped lose you a Super Bowl when he stunk up the Superdome against the Ravens. The entire defensive backfield got burned pretty good that day. Same with several key plays vs the Seahawks in the championship game more recently. Again, decent secondary, but not clutch, and therein lies the problem in the playoffs for the 49ers lately.

SF can do better than this idiot. He's going to get suspended for sure by either the team, Goodell, or just flat out cut. Watch.

Certainly cared plenty when Harbaugh was being taken to task about the claim the Hawks were doing stuff that you had to question.... Interesting how the "caring" depends on team colors or affiliation...

I post here because I enjoy it. Even in the mudst of an argument. Do I really care or take anything personal? No. I'd shake Kalubsne's hand and have a coffee with him if he wanted to. I usually post late st night, when I am too tired to do anything else or wired up from coffee I drank during a 10 hour work day. It is all in fun.

OK, as long as the law is handling this I do not care. In real life I would surely step in and I have many times to break up a fight or report a wreckless driver. Like I said, absent an Aaron Hernandez situation I don't concern myself with every off field legal issue these guys have. The law deals with them. In reality, you may have a friend or coworker who has had some type of trouble. I try to cut people a lot of slack. Just my philosophy.

I am in San Diego now. 75 degrees but it feels hot and dry. I shoulda took a flight to Seattle.

Sure thing. Just let me know the time about a week ahead and I will buy you a beer. I have tried to meet a couple of you, but most people live outside the area.

I live in San Jose. If you're in the area for whatever reason and time permits, maybe we could hang sometime. That goes for anybody in this forum, really. Be cool to meet some of the people I've exchanged posts with over the years.

Same for me, maybe this should be another thread.

But if anyone ever goes to Shanghai let me know. I'll buy you a Tsingdao beer.
Its non-stop from Frisco or Vancouver CA. Be warned: going through Japan is a B though in that it makes for a much longer day.

Bummer, not an "arrest" but it certainly fits the "pattern" for a typical off season in Ninerville, arrest, followed by this? Doesn't look good. Same ol' same ol', what was that about reproach again? LOL. Couldn't happen to a nicer bunch of folks ( and no I certainly am not concerned that the 5th string receiver might be involved, as is the typical case, well at least in Seattle, it's the "fringe" players being dumbarses, not guys that can't be replaced).

Come on, HC. You're not actually hoping that a crime was committed, are you? Suppose the 'victim' was your daughter. Would you be saying 'bummer' if it turned out she wasn't sexually assaulted?

I don't like Kaepernick or the Niners anymore than anyone else, but I truly hope that no crime was committed. I don't like seeing anyone getting into trouble no matter who they play for.

No, it was said tongue in cheek. Of course I wasn't "hoping" the woman was assaulted, and in fact I really don't believe she was, which in my book makes it ok to joke about. The woman is ok, and all that is happening here IMO is Niner nation is getting worked up, Kap looks the fool, and it continues a disturbing trend of Niner stars inability to act "above reproach" which I personally find funny. These stories come out about that team far to often, and get little or no play in the media, which I find simply odd..

OK, I'll accept that. It's pretty hard to tell what you're thinking when all we have to go on is printed text. You've really gone off with some pretty caustic remarks about the Niners, Kaepernick, Futurite, Harbaugh, et al, so I wasn't putting thoughts like those past you. My apologies.

That's why I quoted my own post about the over/ under on Niners arrests. Sorry for the misunderstanding, wasn't my intention to be anything but joking about problems with Niners and the law during the offseason. I have a daughter and a wife and a mother, it was more in reference to my original post, and really little to do with the circumstance currently going on. I am sorry, it didn't come across that way..

No sweat, HC. That's why I stated my response as a question. I couldn't believe that you were serious. I might disagree with you (a lot), but I don't think you're a Kaepernick-style D-bag.

Brief update. I guess the person Culliver in his cool, calm, collected above reproach way threatened was a 15 year old kid. SMH , scary thing is, this isn't the most serious problem facing a player currently on the team, and honestly, cutting the guy to "make statement" actual just makes them look like hypocrites after picking up the fifth year option of the idiot who is facing far more serious charges. Kind of a no win situation for the front office.
