Russell is sooooo much better when Doug Baldwin is healthy.

This team can be scary good and just think, we had two new OLine starters on the right side and Sweezy got hurt and was out for some plays, not to mention the issues on D.

Now, if we can only arrange to play all the playoff games at night, where Russell is really Russell. Played UP to the competition tonight.

Our last few drafts have really made this a team again --

I think every QB is better with their #1 target on the filed. That said what I like most tonight was when they needed to they let Wilson be Wilson and did not wait till the 4th qtr to do it. hoe they do it more often

Good game plan against a tough opponent who was looking to cement a first round bye. They are now in danger of sliding from 2nd seed to 5th, so they definitely had something to play for. Proud of the Hawks, coaches & our full-throated 12s (they helped).

First, on the opponent. KC’s O is sick. Mahomes is the real deal. He’s special and I’ll look forward to watching him in the years ahead. Their D-line is good against the pass, but overall, their D will be what stops them from hoisting a Lombardi trophy this year.

Second, what a bunch of studs on our team.
Doug (kinda injured) was a beast (that one-handed grab was a cherry on top of an awesome night).
Tyler’s catch on the sideline was breath-taking.
Ed Dixon’s 1st down by breaking tackles was huge - as was his eye-popping TD.
Chris Carson was a complete stud. All. Night. Long. 100+ yards again and over 1k on the year while sharing so many carries and being out games.
Fluker came in while still hurting. It was go time and he did what he had to. Wow!
Russell was so good. He’s so overlooked it’s irritating. One of the very best!
Bobby was awesome! As expected.
That KJ and McDougald played was HUGE. Not only through inspiration, but because we needed them. Well done.
Akeem King is solid. Good for us.

That was a masterful performance by RW last night. I think out of all the plays he had ONE mistake. That is playing at an elite level.

The whole team came together to win that last night. Every aspect was needed and there is only 2 concerns moving forward.

1. Kickoff Return coverage. Seebass should not be having to make tackles and as we've seen 'CAN'T" anyways. So cover better or have a different strategy for kickoffs. (nod to our punter for doing the kicking duties twice - one good the other not as bad as the k.o. return).

2. FG kicking. Before anyone goes off on Seebass, he's probably not much different than any other FG kicker in the league. The thing I noticed is that Seabass mainly misses from the right hash. Start of the season was the left hash. He's not so bad when in the middle. Something for the team to think about when deciding to go or not on 4th downs.

I watched last night's game at a sports bar with a couple of old friends accompanied by a number of distractions so I'm unable to give a full accounting of the game, but by in large, I agree with most all the summations in this thread.

This week should be treated as a semi bye week in that we need to get everyone healthy for the playoffs. There's not a great deal of difference between the 5th and 6th seeds, at least not enough to sacrifice the health of key players like Carson, Fluker, etc. If we had HFA as we've had in all 3 of our past SB appearances, I'd be predicting a Lombardi as I don't see a lot of difference between us and the other contenders, at least not when we're in the friendly confines.

It's refreshing to see some old friends re-appearing in this thread, like Sis, mykc, Vegas, and The Pope. I wish you guys would contribute more on Mondays-Saturdays.

Although I agree with you, it doesn't seem to be part of Pete's philosophy of a championship game every week.
I doubt he holds anyone out if they are the better player and can play.

Pete's walked back from his cliches so often that they're not relevant. They're just motivational phrases, not a true philosphical principle.

I'd bet money that Carson doesn't get more than 10 touches this week and wouldn't be surprised if Russell doesn't play in the 4th quarter. IMO this week's game gets treated more like a preseason game.

My take is that the Hawks will most likely stick with the starters and the game flow will be the true indicator of how long they play. If the Hawks jump out to a decent lead, then they may start to pull some of the horses. If the game is close or the Hawks fall behind it will be all hands on deck. I believe the preference would be to play Dallas in the friendly confines of the jerrah dome as opposed to opening the playoffs with Chicago.

Yeah, I think that constitutes a fairly healthy difference between the two wildcard seeds. Maybe not enough to warrant risking health issues if you *know* that's at stake, but I can't see Pete sitting anyone that's healthy unless the game is out of hand (in either direction).

I think Pete wants to go into the playoffs on a winning streak and will play the starters
as much as he can. The mentality of this team is to push, and push some more and it's
not part of the plan to coast.

Yeah I'm feeling like the whole game and a few of the early ones on Sunday. We're just like playoff games in the intensity with which they were played. We have a great day today and Monday.

I just can't wait until next week or the playoffs playing with the Cowgirls. LOL. But I am sure we can stomp the Cowgirls after (if / when) we beat Arizona. LOL LOVE me some Seahawks.

Go Hawks !!!!!!

Chicago plays Minny in Minny this week (week 17). If we win, tie our game or if both we and Minny loses, then Minny will play Chicago in Chicago next week. I don't think either Chicago or Minny are going to want to win this coming week more than the week after. I expet their game to be played straight up and no fancy plays to be game planned for the wild card week. Should be interesting how week 17 turns out.

You're forgetting about the Rams. If the Rams lose to Santa Clara and the Bears beat Minny, then the Bears get the #2 seed and a first round bye. The Niners have played relatively well the past few weeks and the Rams haven't looked nearly as sharp as they did in the first couple of months. For our sake, I'd much rather see the Rams get the 2 seed as we'd likely play them in LA in the 2nd round. If the Bears get the 2 seed, we'd be heading for Chicago at the coldest time of the year.

You could be right but being a wild card, even at #5, we will most likely be in N.O. for the Divisional Round. Either way, I think we play in both L.A. and N.O. to make it to the SB.

Without a doubt the finest Seahawks game of the season. Just know that you were seeing the Hawks that can win the Superbowl in 2019.
