That one is a bit disappointing actually, BUT if the rumor that the deal was four years/12 million....well that's just an overpay!
Still this one is disappointing, I thought he was a legit stud last year for us.

Of course, given Manning's age, it's definitely the right thing to do, and really, out of the AFC, who is there who can beat them?
If the Doncos improve the defense, especially at pass rush and in the secondary, who's to say they cannot go right back to the Super Bowl?
I wouldn't bet against them! They could easily lose guys like Decker and Nosering Potato (QB's on Facebook reference) and be just fine offensively, it was the other side of the ball, and special teams (lack of balance!!!) that was their Achilles Heal.
kalibane wrote:I kind of hope Denver just keeps signing people. I can't think of a time when this kind of strategy pays off. Elway must really be fuming over that Superbowl because this is like Dan Snyder stuff.
monkey wrote:Yeah...I can't really agree with being happy over losing Breno.
If that happens we probably will have to rely on Bailey or Bowie at RT, neither of whom have proven anything yet, and as such are a bit of a risk.
Even going out and getting some free agent...really who is there?
That leaves the draft.
Great.
Now instead of taking BPA, we're looking to make sure we fill a need at RT.
Naw, I liked Breno's attitude, sure I disliked his penalties (which I would note, went down this last season) but his fire was a good thing to have on the line. He's a lot like Brandon Browner to me, you know he'll get beat occasionally, and will get flagged from time to time, but his attitude and fire make him valuable.
EDIT: As for Finley coming to visit, this is something I am really warming up to the idea of because of something I remembered from a while back.
Remember when we picked up oft injured TE Kellen Winslow to be our "joker"? The idea was that in two TE sets, you can use the Joker, (H Back) to create all kinds of mismatches, because depending on how the defense tries to play it, you are always an audible away from having a big advantage. If they play their base defense, you move that joker around to create the passing mismatch, if they go nickle, you run, always giving you an advantage.
Think Finley and Willson on the field at the same time...and while you're seeing the possibilities remember that we probably get Finley on a cheap, one year, prove it deal, like we got Bennett last year, then think about how much size, and height advantage this would give us in the red zone, the area of the field where we've struggled a bit. We always seem better suited to throwing touchdowns from outside the red zone, than from within....possibly because we have/had so many run-after-the-catch playmakers at WR but not a lot of height once Rice went down.
That could change with Finley in that Joker role that we wanted Winslow to play. Just saying...this idea has real merit.

What has happened to the real John Schneider? Was he kidnapped and replaced by the Mariner G.M.?? Is Zuiedcinck masquerading as J.S.??? Pull of that blond wig and lets see if it is a big fat headed bald guy!
You can't get away with this Jack Z, wrecking the Seahawks roster won't make people like the Mariners...

What are you talking about? Finley is 26 years old. I don't want him because he drops the ball at a prohibitive rate, but he isn't anywhere near "old".

Yea, that deal with Talib is insane. $57M over 6 years with $26M guaranteed? Sure makes you wonder how much money Sherman could get on the FA market.

He also said he had interest from the 49ers but would never go there because it would be too disrespectful to Seattle.

This would be a HUGELY underrated move if it were to happen! Hatcher has been around the league for a while and has always had a high motor with legit pass rush skills from the tackle spot.
I would be VERY, VERY in favor of this if it were to happen...in fact I would say that it would be nearly on par with how I felt last year when word came out we signed Bennett (who I was actually even higher on than I was Cliff Avril...which is saying something because I LOVED the Avril signing.) He would fit into the rotation SO nicely...he could potentially come in for Bennett when he needs a breather, or slides out to end, without losing pass rush from the DT spot.
Seriously...this is a move I'd do a big fist pump over, it would make our D-Line rotation as a whole INSANELY O.P.!
EDIT: BTW the Saints defense just got better really quick. Now only the Seahawks can honestly say that they have a better pair of safeties than the Saints.
That's a pretty sick tandem right there.
Also, the Broncos by adding TJ Ward have helped themselves, and if they also add one of either Demarcus Ware or Jared Allen as they are rumored to be in the hunt for, they will also have upgraded their defense quite a bit.
Remember to that they will have Miller back next year...that could be a much improved defense.
